Generation of additive colors with near unity amplitude using a multilayer tandem Fabry–Perot cavity

In this paper, the generation of additive red-green-blue (RGB) colors in reflectance mode with near unity amplitude is demonstrated. For purpose, a multilayer structure made metal–insulator–metal–semiconductor–insulator stacks designed to achieve > 0.9 reflection peaks full-width-at-half-maximum values < p mathvariant="normal">e mathvariant="normal">a mathvariant="normal">k . The proposed design also shows zero off-resonance spectral ranges, and this, turn, leads high color purity. optimized designs are fabricated, simulation theoretical results verified characterization findings. This work demonstrates potential tandem cavity realization lithography-free large-scale compatible functional optical coatings.
